DEVICE FOR ADJUSTING THE POSITION OF AN ARCHERY BOW ARROW REST A device having a stationary member fixed to the grip portion of a bow, the member having a through hole therein, a movable member having an plate member transversely movable to various positions with respect to the movable member and an inner-threaded cylindrical section slidably inserted in the through hole of the stationary member, and a control member having an outer threaded extension engaged with the inner-threaded cylindrical section of the movable member. The rotation of the control member permits the sliding movement of the movable member, thus adjusting the lateral position of the arrow rest in the sight window of the bow. The movable member may further include a shock-absorbing arrow support, which absorbs the shocks caused when the arrow is released from the bow. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a device for adjusting the position of an archery bow arrow rest, by which the arrow rest can be adjustably moved in and out of the side of the archery bow, permitting the archer to select a desired position of the arrow with respect to the archery bow. Further, the device has a shock-absorbing arrow support so as to absorb the shock caused the instant when the arrow is released. It is true that an archer can hit the target accurately by practising the proper techniques from nocking to releasing. As a matter of fact, the hitting rate can be improved by practising the proper method for shooting an arrow so far as the bowsight and the arrow rest are disposed at a most suitable location for the archer. However, there are often cases where the location of the bowsight and the arrow rest with respect to the bow is not suited for the archer, and this becomes a cause of hindering the improvement of his techniques. In shooting an arrow, it is known that such factors as the diameter and length of the arrow, the length of the archer's arms, etc., delicately have to do with the direction of flight of the arrow. The arrow is usually fixed to the bowstring with the direction of the arrow slightly deviated from the center line connecting the center of the target with the bowstring or the center of the bow, and when released the arrow flies depicting a very slight waving line. With what an angle to the abovementioned center line the arrow should be fixed to the bowstring depends on the archer's proper conditions and the condition of the arrow itself. Therefore, it is very important for the archer how to set the angle between the center line and the fixing direction of the arrow, and it is very convenient to the archer if the angle can be adjusted as desired, depending on the archer's own condition and the arrow condition. Further, the shock caused the instant the arrow is released from the bow has much to do with the hitting rate of the bow and arrow. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION One object of the present invention is to provide an adjustable arrow rest device for an archery bow by which the arrow rest can be adjustably positioned in and out of the side of the bow. Another object of the present invention is to provide an adjustable arrow rest device for an archery bow which effectively absorbs the shock caused when the arrow is released from the bow.

A device for adjusting the position of an arrow rest for an archery bow, comprising: a stationary member affixable to an archery bow; said stationary member having a through hole therein; a movable member including a projection slidably inserted in said through hole of said stationary member; a plate member having an opening which extends elongated across said plate; means for fastening said plate member to said projection and for selectively positioning said plate in varied transverse positions with respect to the projection; said fastening means being positioned in said plate opening; loosening of said fastening means allowing said plate member to be moved along said opening with respect to said projection; an arrow rest attached to said plate member; and a control member having an extension engaged with said projection for moving said projection. 2. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said movable member further includes an arrow supporting member; a resilient buffer member supported by said movable member and resiliently supporting said arrow supporting member; said plate member having a second elongated opening extending generally parallel to said first mentioned opening; said arrow supporting member extending through said second elongated opening. 3. The device as claimed in claim 2, further comprising means for adjusting the resiliency of said buffer member. 4. The device as claimed in claim 2, wherein said projection is screw threaded, said fastening means screws said plate member to said projection and said control member extension is threaded and threadedly engages said projection. 5. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said projection is screw threaded, said fastening means screws said plate member to said projection and said control member extension is threaded and threadedly engages said projection. 6. The device as claimed in claim 5, wherein said threaded projection of said movable member is formed into an internally threaded cylindrical projection; said extension of said control member is externally threaded; said externally threaded extension being engaged with said internally threaded cylindrical projection. 7. A device for adjusting the position of an arrow rest for an archery bow, comprising: first means for supporting an arrow; a base member juxtaposed said first means along an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of a bow; said first means being movable along said axis; said first means having a plate member for supporting an arrow, said plate member having an opening which extends elongated across said plate; second means for fastening said plate member to said base member for selectively positioning said plate member in various transverse positions with respect to the base mamber; said second means being positioned in said opening; loosening of said second means allows said plate member to be moved along said opening with respect to said base member. 8. The device as claimed in claim 7, further comprising: an arrow supporting member; a resilient buffer member attached to said plate member and resiliently supporting said arrow suuporting member; said plate member having a second elongated opening extending generally parallel to said first mentioned opening; said arrow supporting member extending through said second elongated opening, whereby said plate member is movable along said first mentioned and said second elongated openings with respect to said base member. 9. The device as claimed in claim 8, further comprising means for adjusting the resiliency of said buffer member. 10. The device as claimed in claim 7, wherein said second means is a screw. Other objects, features and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which the figures show and embodiment of the invention. It is to be expressly understood, however, that the drawings are for the purpose of illustration and description only and are not designed as a definition of the invention, reference being had for this purpose to the appended claims. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a cross sectional front view of an adjustable arrow rest device for an archery bow embodying the present invention; FIG. 2 is a side view of the adjustable arrow rest device shown in FIG. 1; and FIG. 3 is a front external view of the adjustable arrow rest device. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT A movable member A, which is formed substantially in the shape of a short cylinder, is embedded slidably in a recess or room 1a formed in the handle section 1 of an archery bow on the side of a sight window 2. The movable member A has an upper section A1 and a lower section A2. The upper section A1 has a threaded through hole 3. One mouth of the through hole 3 that is located near the sight window 2 of the archery bow is narrower than the other mouth thereof. From the broader mouth, a damper shaft 5 having a disk-shaped base 6 is inserted into the hole 3 together with rubber buffer pieces 7, 7', with the base 6 interposed between the pieces 7 and 7'. Thereafter, a screw 23 is tightly screwed into the broader mouth of the through hole 3, so that the base 6 of the damper shaft 5 is held in the hole 3 with a proper resiliency. The resiliency may be properly adjusted by tightening or loosening the screw 23. To the outwardly projecting end of the damper shaft 5 is attached an arrow supporting plate 4 by means of a screw or other suitable means, the arrow supporting plate 4 serving to determine the set position of an arrow indicated by a dotted circle 8 in FIG. 1. The lower section A2 of the movable member A is formed into an inner-threaded cylindrical projection 10 of an appropriate length extending from the sight-window side of the bow 1 towards the opposite side thereof. A rhomboidal plate member 13 is attached to the sight window side of the movable member A by means of a screw 14, which is screwed into the inner-threaded lower section A2 of the movable member A, that is, the threaded through hole 9 of the lower section A2. The plate member 13 is provided with an arrow rest 12 projecting therefrom into the sight window 2 of the archery bow grip section 1. The aforesaid cylindrical lower section A2 of the movable member A is fitted slidably into a cylindrical stationary member B, which is fixedly held in the handle section 1. Namely, the stationary member B has an elongated through hole 24 and receives therein the cylindrical porjection 10 of the movable member A so that the projection 10 may be slidably guided in the through hole 24. This stationary member B also has a guide 15 disposed on the inside wall thereof. The guide 15 is fitted into an elongated slot or groove 11 formed on the outside wall of the lower section A2. The guide 15 runs in the lengthwise direction of the lower section A2. This guide permits the sliding movement of the lower section A2 within the through hole 24 of the stationary member B and prevents the lower section A2 from rotating. From the through hole mouth of the stationary member B opening at that side opposite to the sight window side of the bow, is inserted an outer-threaded shaft 19 of a control member C, the shaft 19 being threadedly engaged with the threaded through hole 9 of the lower section A2 of the movable member A. The control member C has at one end thereof a disk-shaped knob 18, the rotation of which permits the sliding movement of the lower section A2, and hence the whole of the movable member A. Between the lower section A2 of the movable member A and the side wall 17 of the stationary member B, is interposed a coil spring 16 in a compressed state, the coil spring 16 constantly urging the lower section A2 towards the sight window side of the bow, thus absorbing a play between the threads of the inner-threaded lower section A2 and outer-threaded shaft 19. The knob 18 is provided with a screw 22 at the peripheral wall thereof, so that the tightening of the screw 22 enables the control member C to be locked on the outwardly projecting end portion of the stationary member B. As is apparent from FIG. 2, the plate member 13 has two horizontally parallely extending elongated openings 20 and 21, into which the screw 14 and the damper shaft 5 are inserted, respectively. The method of operation for the adjustable arrow rest device for an archery bow of this invention is as follows. If an archer has found it necessary to move the arrow rest towards or away from the bow, he only turns the knob 18. Further, if he finds it necessary to position the arrow rest closer to or more away from the bowstring, he only loosens the screw 14 and moves the plate member 13, horizontally along the openings 20 and 21. As the movable member A provided with the arrow supporting plate 4 and the arrow rest 12 can be moved horizontally by turning the knob 18, an archer can regulate the lateral position of the arrow supporting plate 4 and arrow rest 12, as desired, by means of the turning knob 18. The device of this invention can achieve a very fine positional adjustment of the arrow supporting plate and arrow rest, since the back-and-forth movement of the movable member is carried out by the threaded engagement of the lower section A2 and shaft 19. Once a desired position is determined through the abovementioned operations, it can be maintained by tightening the screws 14 and 22. From the foregoing description, it will be understood that the present invention provides the adjustable arrow rest device for an archery bow which improves the hitting rate with the archery bow, as the adjustment of the position of the arrow rest can be achieved easily and the shock produced at the time of release of an arrow is absorbed and reduced by the rubber buffer pieces through the damper shaft. Further, the device of the present invention is simple in construction and is easy in operation, and moreover, it is excellent in stability as the position of the arrow rest does not shift unless the knob of the control member is turned.
